Mark Kirwan gets first senior international Athletics Ireland have confirmed that Mark Kirwan will represent Ireland at the 3K Steeplechase in the Europa Cup in Banska Bystricia, Slovakia on Saturday. Mark becomes the first Raheny man to compete in the Europa cup since Ben Brady in the late 80's. Mark has succesfully transfered his Cross Country form to the track this season. Mark third scorer on the Raheny team who finished second in the National Long course and bronze medalist in the Short course also helping the team to a gold medal in the team event. Mark also represented Ireland at the University international in Alergia in March. Mark has being slightly unlucky with his Steeplechase runs this season. A good PB was achieved in the Dublin Graded meet in May of 9.06.65. was even more impressive considering Mark had no competition in the race. Mark second S\C race in the Irish Milers Club suffered the same fate. Mark running more impressively condisering there was very strong wind and again only one entrant. From all your club mates the very best of luck. |
