RAHENY ATHLETES IN MEDALS AT LEINSTER SCHOOLS CH'SHIPS DAY 1 of the Leinster Schools' Track and Field Championship finals at Santry proved a successful one for Raheny athletes with club members picking up three gold medals and featuring prominently in a host of other finals. The St Paul's pair Etienne Corish and Tim Moriarty took gold in their respective events, the 2k steeplechase and the 1100m while Kevin Pierce, running in the colours of St Fintan's won the U-16 mile. Etienne Corish's winning time in the 2k steeplechase was 6.20.22. In the minor 1100m Tim Moriarty won in a time of 3.18.74 while St Fintan's Ben Kelly was second in 3.21.80. Oisin Corish from St Paul's was sixth in 3.29.84. Etienne and Oisin are grandsons of club Vice President Nick Corish, a regular prize winner in the O 80 category in BHAA races. Kevin Pierce's winning time in the U-16 boys mile was 4.47.22. Raheny's other medal winners included Sean O'Keeffe (St Fintan's) second in the minor boys 75m hurdles in 12.34; Conor Sheridan (St Fintan's) 3rd in the senior boys 400m hurdles in a time of 60.34; Chloe Doran (Holy Faith Clontarf) second in the minor girls 500m in 83.18 and Molly Giblin (Manor House) third in the Intermediate Girls 300m hurdles in 48.58.
