AOIFE TALTY 5TH IN RAS NA EIREANN DESPITE FALL With the National Senior cross country championships just a couple of weeks ago our club athletes are currently fine tuning their preparations. At yesterday's BHAA/North Connacht Farmers cross country race Mick Clohisey scored a comfortable win in 25:18, more than a minute clear of club mate Simon Ryan (26:32) Ian Walsh was third and Cillian O'Leary sixth. Other Raheny men in action were Dave Gargan, Tom Loftus, Seamus Rooney, Vinny Clohisey and Maurice Timmins. In the women's race Patrycja Wlodarczyk was second with Mary Purdue Smyth and Yvonne McMahon also competing. This afternoon the focus switched to the annual Ras an hEireann CC race in Dunleer. In the 4km women's race Aoife Talty, finished a credible sixth; Orla O'Mahony was 7th while in her first race in the Raheny colours Fiona Roche was 8th. |
