Gold for Masters Women & Silver for Senior Women in National Marathon
The Dublin Marathon doubled as the National Marathon for 2009 & Athletics Ireland have announced the team results for the 2009 National Marathon Gold medals go the club's Women's master 1 team of Helena Corcoran, Bernie Manley & Bridie McHugh in a total of 10.42.49. A 64 second gap on Midleton A.C, while St.Finbarr's took the bronze. The women's senior team took silver in their event. The team of Annette Kealy, Anne Marie Hickey & Lorraine Byrne finished with a time of 9.18.04 - 14 minutes behind St.Finbarr's while Civil Service took bronze. Our Senior B team placed 11th of 16. a good performance from Deirdre Manning, Helen O'Connor & Aideen O'Connor. The Men's O 50 team of Vincent Clohisey, Dave Brady & Christy Reilly took bronze in their event. Noel McInerney won an individual gold medal in the Men's O 70 category. The club entered two teams in the Masters' men's category. 31 team finished the event The A team of Dave Woods, Ronan Walsh & Dave Gargan were 11th, the B team of Brendan Donnelly, Dave Leech and Martin Kelly were 21st. The Senior Men's team were unlucky placing just outside the medals in fourth place - the team of Simon Reede, Frank Mangan & Niall McDonnell fell short to DSD, St.Finbarr's & North Belfast. Well done to everyone and we are in line for some more good news whenever the Co.Dublin Marathon results are announced. |
